You Hurt My Feelings

There aren’t many things more delightful than spending 90ish minutes with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and she, along with co-stars Tobias Menzies and Michaela Watkins and a host of other familiar faces, does not disappoint as Beth, a writer who accidentally learns that her husband, Don, doesn’t really like her latest book - a novel, not a memoir (which sold well, but not well enough). The film is simple, straightforward, effortless, and enjoyable, exploring the feelings that we all might have when we learn what someone really thinks about us or our work. Sometimes - most times - love means never saying exactly what’s on your mind.
